MiQ Private Wealth Walks for Mito Cure

Last July, three MiQ Private Wealth employees walked 35 km across Brisbane, to raise much needed funds to find a cure for Mitochrondrial (mito) disease.

The Bloody Long Walk, is a 35Km Scenic Walk Challenge that follows the coastline of Shorncliffe, through Boondall wetlands, past the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point and Story Bridge.  After 35KM of huffing and puffing, it finishes at Southbank Parklands.

At each annual staff gathering, MiQ Private Wealth takes on board a charity to support.   At our 2018 event, we chose the Mito Foundation, raising almost $3,000 in a weekend!!! A number of  our staff then participated in the Bloody Long Walk (yes it was!)

The Mito Foundation supports people affected by mito, funds essential research into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cures of mitochondrial disorders, and increases awareness and education about this devastating disease.

We are very proud of our association with the Mito Foundation and our fundraising efforts.  We had an awesome (and challenging) time with thousands of other people supporting this charity and thoroughly recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants a walking adventure.  More information about Mito and the Bloody Long Walk can be found http://www.bloodylongwalk.com.au/
